This is the place where you can find informed and inspiring choices of where to WINE, DINE, STAY and PLAY whilst you are on holiday in Southern Africa with us. Constantly updated - and with regular "real life" comments from our travellers - each section simply lists some of the favourite things we love doing in our City of Cape Town and as we travel OUT & ABOUT across Southern Africa and beyond.
We hope you feel inspired to try some of our choices and we would like to hear your thoughts and comments if you do.

The Robertson Small Hotel – Western Cape

As the name suggest this new boutique hotel is small (just ten rooms) and found in the wine lands town of Robertson. What the name doesn’t tell you is what a fabulous stay awaits you. We recently visited and cannot stop raving about the place. It’s super stylish and professional, with stunning décor and attention to detail in the spacious rooms all with huge and luxurious beds. We highly recommend staying in rooms 9 or 10 which overlook (literally) the pool and booking dinner in the hotels fine dining restaurant.

Robertson is a maximum two hours from Cape Town and we think the Small hotel is perfect for a romantic night away or a weekend base to explore the beautiful Robertson valley and wine region.

We love everything about this place, the breakfast out on the patio was something else.

  1. Some people recommended The Robertson Small Hotel to us and even the favourite room was mentioned… but having been there makes such a big difference. Now you can speak about it and this is what we like to do. Because of my birthday Florian surprised me and we stayed one night in this beautiful, upmarket and stylish Boutique Hotel. The moment you arrive you feel the warm welcome and it is easy to feel like home. Restaurant, room, food, service and the facilities make a stay in The Robertson very special and we will go on and talk about it… and hopefully can return soon. Thanks to the team.

  2. This hotel is really special. From the intimate Reubens restaurant to the ancient Gingko tree planted in the courtyard. Perfect chic retreat.
