One of our Travel Concepts team members, Chantal Jenkins, took some much deserved time off during August to revisit one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in Southern Africa: the Garden Route. Over the course of the journey, Chantal and her family stayed at Elephant House which is situated in the Sundays River Valley, just 8km from main entrance to the famous Addo Elephant National Park near Port Elizabeth.
“Elephant House is a personal, homely and up market, colonial guest house and the ideal retreat for those seeking comfort and serenity. Each of the nine suites opens onto its own courtyard and the bathrooms, are really large and spacious!” says Chantal, We loved the relaxed informal atmosphere, the morning game drives were great, but the absolute highlight for us was the optional “Walk with the elephants” safari.
Elephant House is great for families as not only do they have a big, inviting swimming pool, they also have an old-fashioned chest filled with pool toys and accessories for the kids! I really recommend a two or three night stay”.
